European Space Mechanism and Tribology Symposium (ESMATS)

It was held in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and organised by Airbus Defence and Space, Europe’s largest Space company.
The symposium was held at the University of Hertfordshire’s de Havilland campus in Hatfield from the 20th-22nd September 2017 and welcomed Space mechanism professionals and industry leaders from around the globe.

The Aerospace Mechanisms Symposium
ESMATS has come to be recognised as the premier vehicle for Mechanisms Engineers, experienced and new recruits, to come together to discuss and celebrate their successes and lessons learnt, with a view to pooling their knowledge for the betterment of this unique community and the European Space industry as a whole.
ESMATS 2017 attracted over 250 space mechanism designers and engineers, space scientists, satellite project and programme managers globally to engage and knowledge-share on key challenges and topics in current and future Space programmes.
