At the microstructural level, the behaviour is different depending on the crystallographic nature of the sample.
- Monocrystal : the alloy is made of one crystal
- Polycrystal : the alloy is made of several crystals
A monocrystalline alloy has higher performance than a polycrystalline alloy.
For example a monocrystalline alloy has a reversible deformation up to 10% while polycrystal has only 3% of reversible deformation.
