The SMA/SEA have a particularity:they can be used whether as a sensor, an actuator or even both at the same time.

A nimesis component is reduced to only one element actuated electrically for instance. With a minimum of parts within a device, and a simplicity of operation, the component is easy to implement and economical. The performances are quite higher than the majority of other materials (see opposite graph). All those qualities are the advantages of these exceptional materials.
